Recognising a rare photographic opportunity, Andy carefully lit the scene and waited patiently for his visitor to appear. Eventually, his patience was rewarded with this intimate portrait.

The photograph captures the fox’s alert expression, rich russet coat and remarkable detail, from the fine texture of its fur to the delicate whiskers around its face. Against the simple black background, the character and beauty of the animal take centre stage.
